Nokia unveiled its Nokia Steel HR hybrid smartwatch back in November. This particular wearable is not a smartwatch per say, it is more an analog watch mixed with a smart band. The watch face is analog, and it doesn’t change, however, the gadget also features a small digital display. As its name suggests, the Nokia Steel HR features a heart rate sensor that will track the user’s activity. Potential customers should keep in mind that this gadget is not a traditional fitness tracker, so don’t expect it to work as a regular smartwatch. it does offer some of the features we normally get from smartwatches, but it is a hybrid device and has its limitations.
The design of the Nokia Steel HR is quite a pleasant one with its round watch case and silicone band. The strap is made from a very soft silicone, which makes it quite comfortable to wear, but can get a little sweaty in high temperatures. Customers can also opt for additional leather or woven straps. The leather straps sell for $49.95 while the woven ones cost a little less, namely $39.95. The watch comes in two dimensions. There is a 36mm watch face and a 40mm one. The former is now available both in black and white, while the larger watch is only available in black.
Thanks to the hybrid technology, the battery of the Nokia Steel HR can last for weeks on a single charge. The gadget has a new charging cable which is quite easy to use. Also, the watch is water resistant, so users don’t have to take it off when going for a swim. The Nokia Steel HR hybrid smartwatch is compatible with iOS and Android devices. The smaller device’s price is $179.95. The larger one sells for $199.95. The 36mm Nokia Steel HR in white and the 40mm black Nokia Steel HR will ship by December 22. The black 36mm model will ship in 2-3 weeks according to Nokia.
You can find out everything there is to know about the gadget on the Finnish company’s website. You can order the hybrid smartwatch from there too.
