The Huawei Nova 2S is supposed to launch tomorrow, on December 7. This doesn’t mean, however, that it is still a mystery what it will be like. Not only did pictures of the handset surface on the web ahead of its official unveiling, the handset is also the star of a hands-on video that reveals everything there is to know about the handset. Basically, Huawei only has to tell us when and where the device will become available for purchase, the rest is already out in the world.
It’s not a surprise that the handset in the video looks exactly like the ones in the recently leaked images. The video confirms the design of the Huawei Nova 2S but it doesn’t stop here. It also reveals that the smartphone’s display features a 1080 x 2160 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. In the video, there is no mentioning of the size of the display, however, previous leaks already revealed that it will most likely be a 6-inch screen. Just like everyone expected, the Huawei Nova 2S runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The handset includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. As for the chipset, it is a Kirin 960 SoC, like the ones we’ve seen previously in the Huawei Mate 9 and P10.
The Huawei Nova 2S will feature four cameras instead of the three combo we are used to seeing in smartphones. Two of the sensors will be on the back of the handset while two of them will be just above the screen. Previous rumors suggested that the Huawei nova 2S will have a price tag suitable for a mid-range handset. The company will announce the new model in China on December 7. It’s not quite clear yet whether it will soon become globally available or not and when it will officially go on sale.
The Huawei Nova 2S is definitely a step up from its predecessor, the original Huawei Nova 2. It has a nice design, more than decent specs and hopefully, it will have a reasonable price too. We will find out all details about the handset tomorrow, hen Huawei will officially announce it.
