Nokia launched a few smartphones this year, the Nokia 8 being the most powerful one of them all. For a few months now, we have known that the company will release another flagship handset, the Nokia 9. Everyone hoped it will arrive before the end of the year, however, it seems that we will have to wait a little longer for it. According to the latest reports, HMD Global will launch the Nokia 9 only next month. To be more exact, the company will hold an event in China on January 19, and the Nokia 9 will most likely be the main attraction of the event. At the same event, HMD Global might launch another great handset too. It is the second-generation Nokia 8, which will be even cooler than the current version of the handset.
The Nokia 9 will reportedly have a 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution. Both the Nokia 9 and the Nokia 8 will probably embrace the 18:9 aspect ratio, and there is a high chance that both of them will feature all-screen designs. Even though the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is already going to be present in the Samsung Galaxy S9 by that time, the Nokia 9 will sport this year’s flagship SoC, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The water-resistant handset will have no 3.5mm audio jack, but it will compensate for the lack of it with a great dual rear camera setup that ensures great picture quality.
As for the pricing, it seems that the Nokia 9 flagship smartphone will have a quite reasonable price tag. The base model, including 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, will reportedly sell for CNY 3,699 ($560), while the variant that offers 128GB of storage will sell for CNY 4,199 ($635). Compared to other smartphones with similar specs, these prices really aren’t too high. Also, the Nokia smartphones have really solid builds, making them quite appealing, especially for this price tag.
There’s still more than a month to go until HMD Global will unveil its flagship smartphone, the Nokia 9, and the second-generation Nokia 8. We are confident that we will hear more about the upcoming handsets ahead of their official launch. We will keep you in the loop too.
