The Oppo R11s only launched a day ago and registrations already crossed the 300,000 threshold. The handset will officially become available for purchase on November 10, so it’s not hard to imagine that the number of registrations for the Oppo R11s will go beyond 1 million. This model seems to be extremely popular, even though it is a mid-range handset, not a high-end one. Even so, it has a lot to offer for its price, making it quite appealing to the majority of people. It is also notable that these numbers only reflect the interest in the handset in the Chinese market, not worldwide.
The Oppo R11s is the reiteration of the Oppo R11 that launched back in the summer. The smartphone got a new design, ditching the home button and opting for the now so popular 18:9 aspect ratio and bezel-less design. Thanks to the new looks, Oppo managed to squeeze in a 6-inch display into a body that is almost the same size as the one of the original Oppo R11. Naturally, not only the size of the screen got larger, the new Oppo R11s’s display also offers a slightly higher resolution. The video experience on this smartphone should be quite a nice one.
While the changes on the outside are quite obvious, it doesn’t seem like much has changed on the inside. The Oppo R11s features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor as its predecessor does, and it includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The camera setup also remained mainly the same. On the back, users will find a dual camera setup, consisting of a 20MP and a 16MP sensor, while on the front there is now a 20MP selfie snapper with some interesting features based on AI. Unfortunately, the software didn’t change either. The brand new model runs the same version of Android as the Oppo R11 did when it launched.
There is a little improvement in the battery section. The new model got a slight boost and now features a 3,200mAh battery. The Oppo R11 that launched back in June only had a 3,000mAh energy pack to offer. Customers can choose between three color options: Black, Champagne, and Red. The Black and the Champagne models sell for CNY 2,999, while the Red variant costs a little more. It has a CNY 3,199 price tag.
