While the ink hasn’t even dried on the announcement of the HTC U11 PLus and U11 Life, we are already looking at the next HTC flagship device. This year’s models all came with single primary cameras, and it seems this will change in 2018. HTC already confirmed that they are currently working on a new handset and that it will feature dual cameras. Even more, HTC president Chialin Chang suggested that the HTC flagship’s dual camera will be different from what we’ve seen before. Unfortunately, he didn’t mention exactly how the cameras will stand out from the crowd.
Besides the fact that the upcoming HTC flagship smartphone will feature a dual camera, the company’s representatives didn’t share any relevant information regarding the handset. Now that we’ve seen the HTC U11 Plus in the flesh, it’s not hard to imagine that HTC will keep the current design. It is even possible that the next HTC flagship will sport even slimmers bezels than the HTC U11 Plus does. Naturally, if HTC keeps up the good work, the upcoming device will also feature the most powerful chipset, which will be the Qualcomm Sna[dragon 845 in 2018. As for the amount of memory and storage, the next HTC flagship doesn’t even need to surpass the current devices, as they offer enough of them. It would also be nice to see the next HTC handset sporting a large battery like the HTC U11 Plus does.
It won’t be the first time HTC delivers a smartphone with dual cameras. The HTC One M9 Plus offered this feature back in 2015. After that, the company decided to deliver handset with one good camera instead of two. The results were not disappointing, however, in this industry, it’s always good to keep up with the trends if not bringing anything innovative to the table. The HTC U11 Plus has a $700 price tag, so the upcoming HTC flagship will probably have a similar price too. The handset will also probably keep the Edge Sense feature and we could see once again an Android One handset coming our way.
