Samsung really seems to have made it up with its fans for last year’s Note 7 disaster. The brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was just awarded the ‘Gadget of the Year’ title at the Indian Mobile Congress 2017. The new Samsung flagship only recently landed in India. The South Korean company launched the handset in this market on September 12, and it seems it already won the hearts of many. Of course, it’s no surprise that a Samsung flagship wins the title. After all, Samsung is India’s biggest and most trusted smartphone brand.
With the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, users get everything they could have gotten from the Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus and as a bonus, they can even use it with a stylus. Of course, the dual rear camera setup is also a nice addition to what the Galaxy S8 has to offer. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s Bixby assistant is as well a feature that was welcomed by many and truly appreciated at the Indian Mobile Congress. The virtual assistant is capable of understanding several Indian accents, which makes it even more appealing to users from this region. Even though the voice capabilities of Bixby didn’t work quite well when the Samsugn Galaxy S8 launched, they were optimized for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and now work just fine.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is probably the most serious threat to the Apple iPhone X. This handset also aims to be the best flagship of the year. Even though the Apple handset is indeed quite a powerful one, it seems that the extra memory the Note 8 comes with turns Samsung’s flagship into the faster phone. At least in some categories. Unfortunately, both flagships are quite expensive so not everyone will be able to afford them. Then again, they are the best of the best, and we all know quality doesn’t come cheap.
The ‘Gadget of the Year’ title definitely means a lot for Samsung, especially after last year’s events with the Galaxy Note 7. At this point, we have no indications that the new Note series handset will explode like its predecessor did. It truly is an impressive and powerful handset so it’s no wonder that everyone at the Indian Mobile Congress loved it.
