Now that the majority of flagship smartphones launched everyone is waiting for them to receive the Android Oreo update. One of the first handsets to get the new version of the popular operating system is Nokia 8. HMD Global’s flagship smartphone will reportedly get the update before the end of October. That means that in approximately four weeks Nokia 8 users will already be able to enjoy all the new features the Android Oreo update will bring them. The Nokia 3, 5, and 6 models will also get the Android ore update, only a little later. The software update will start rolling out to these models before the end of the year.
HMD Global is already beta testing the latest version of the OS. The Android Oreo update will start rolling out to Nokia handsets once it’s perfect. Unfortunately, the late October date is not a certain one. If testing goes wrong somewhere, the release of the new software version will be delayed. Even so, the Nokia 8 will be one of the first devices to get the update. The Nokia 8 didn’t even reach all markets yet, so in some countries, it will probably arrive at the same time as the Android oreo update will.
HMD Global is also expected to launch a new handset, the Nokia 9 soon. It’s highly likely that the new flagship will come with the Android Oreo on board. At this point, we don’t have a launch date for the Nokia flagship, however, the rumors start piling up so we might see it arrive before the end of the year, possibly even in just a few weeks. Chances that the device will launch before the company concludes the beta testing of Android Oreo are really slim. In case this happens, the Nokia 9 might ship with Android Nougat on board and get the Android Oreo update almost immediately.
The Nokia 8 might not be the most beautiful handset we’ve seen this year but it is a solid and reliable one. HMD Global really seems to pay attention to its customers and fans. The fact that the company’s handset will be among the first ones to receive the Android Oreo update confirms this.
