We recently heard that HMD Global is going to launch a budget phone, the Nokia 2 sometime in the near future. The affordable Nokia handset will reportedly come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset, and it will include 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. Rumor also had it that the new smartphone will cost around $120. ZTE just launched a device with similar specs and it has a lower price tag, costing only $80. The ZTE Tempo X is available on Boost Mobile, and it truly is a budget phone. Of course, the specs are quite entry- level, then again, no one could reasonably hope for more for such a low price.
The ZTE Tempo X has a really simple design with rounded corners and rather thick bezels both on the top and on the bottom. The body of the handset is made of plastic, and the 5-inch display offers a 480p resolution. This is far from being impressive, however, it is suitable for a budget phone. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC. The smartphone includes 1GB of memory and 8GB flash storage. The ZTE Tempo X’s 2,200mAh removable battery might not be outstanding but it can ensure a decent battery life. Naturally, the Tempo X also features a primary camera and a selfie snapper. The former has a 5MP sensor while the latter only comes with a 2MP one.
Those who would like to purchase a budget phone on Boost Mobile but would also like higher specs can also opt for the ZTE MAX XL. The handset costs $100, however, it comes with a Snapdragon 415 chipset, it includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, and it has a larger display. The cameras of the handset are also more impressive. The ZTE MAX XL comes with a 13MP back camera and a 5MP camera for selfies. It’s quite clear that users get a lot more for their money with this handset. The battery is also larger, so the handset is just better than the ZTE Tempo X overall. It is even better than the Nokia 2 will reportedly be.
