The HTC U11 was one of the most welcome handsets of this year. Its popularity was partly due to its new design, and partly to its Edge Sense feature. The HTC U11 Life that is about to launch will offer something even better. The smartphone will reportedly run stock Android out of the box. To be more exact, the HTC handset will come with Android Oreo out of the box, in its cleanest form. If this won’t help HTC win some new fans than we don’t know what will. We already heard rumors that Google plans on purchasing HTC. This might be a sign that the deal will go through.
The HTC U11 Life won’t be the only smartphone besides the Pixel handsets to run stock Android. Xiaomi recently announced the Xiaomi Mi A1. This handset is also a part of the Android One program and runs stock Android out of the box. This means that from now on not only PIxel users will be able to enjoy the purest Android experience. There will probably be more handsets that come with lower prices and run this software. Google most likely won’t stop at collaborating only with Xiaomi and HTC, instead, it could expand its program and reach new deals with other manufacturers too.
The upcoming HTC U11 Life may impress with its software but it won’t be the only good thing about the handset. The smartphone will reportedly come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 or 630 chipset on board. Both of these chipsets are powerful and energy- efficient, however, the 660 is the higher- end one. It’s not quite clear which one the HTC U11 Life will have on board, hopefully, it will be the 660. There is no news yet regarding the memory and the internal storage of the smartphone. The HTC U11 that launched in May includes 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on the amount of storage, so it’s safe to assume that the HTC U11 Life will offer at least 4GB too.
The HTC U11 Life may be a little smaller than the original U11. Instead of the 5.5-inch display of HTC’s current popular phone, the U11 Life could come with a 5.2-inch screen. The new handset will support Edge Sense, according to reports. As for the cameras, it seems that the U11 Life will come with two 16MP sensors, one on the back, one on the front. The upcoming smartphone will reportedly have a rather small, 2,600mAh battery. The handset will launch sometime next month, so there are only a few weeks left until we find out everything there is to know about it. I am a big stock Android fan, so I can’t wait to see what it will be like.
