The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S hasn’t been announced yet, however, we already know what it looks like and how powerful it is. Both the design and the specification of the budget- friendly tablet leaked recently. The tech giant probably won’t hold a big launch event for the gadget so it could turn up any time now, and it probably will do so quietly. Even though the tablet doesn’t bring any groundbreaking features, it seems to be a decent one and it will most likely cost somewhere around €200 at launch.
There isn’t much to say about the design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S. It is quite simple with rounded edges and rather thick bezels both on the top and bottom. As for the side bezels, they aren’t as thick as the top and bottom ones, but they are thick enough not to look extremely modern. The design is clean and given the fact that it targets children mostly, it’s quite appropriate. The tablet will most likely become available in two color options. Customers will be able to choose between a Gold and a Black device.
Under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S users will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The 8-inch display has a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, which is decent but is not impressive. The 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage confirm the fact that this device targets children and entry- level users. They are enough to do the job but they won’t turn this tablet into a really fast and powerful one. The gadget will come in two variants. one of them will only offer WiFi connectivity, while the other will add LTE connection to the equation. Naturally, the more complex variant will also cost more. To be more precise, its price tag will be €100 higher in Europe than the one of the WiFi only variant.
Other features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S include a 5,000mAh battery, a USB Type- C port for charging and data transfer, an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. A microSD card slot is also among the features of the tablet so users will be able to expand the storage of their device. The tablet will run Android Nougat out of the box. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S seems to be a decent tablet for a rather affordable price tag. Whether it will be a success or not remains to be seen.
