There are exactly two weeks to go until the launch of the new iPhones. Even though Apple normally tries to maintain a high level of secrecy regarding their upcoming handsets, we already know quite a lot about all three models. The most recent reports bring us the exact measurements of both the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus. The upcoming models will be slightly bigger than the previous models, however, the differences will be almost unnoticeable for the majority of users. According to reports, the change in size is due to some new features the new models will have, including the wireless charging support.
Compared to their successors, as you can see in the table below, the new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will have only 0.1- 0.2mm extra. Unfortunately, there will be no change in the size of the handsets’ display size or the thickness of the bezels. Of course, the major change will come with the iPhone 8, which will have a totally new design and almost bezel- less screen. Given the fact that all new models will support wireless charging now, Apple needed to squeeze more technology into the handsets. This totally explains the small increase in size.
It seems that Apple will unveil its new models on September 12. At the same event, the tech giant will show off the new iPhone 7s, the iPhone 7s Plus, and the brand new iPhone 8 we’ve heard so much about. It’s highly likely that all of them will become quite popular models, even though the majority of people who can afford it will probably go for the new and exciting iPhone 8 instead of choosing the successors to the current iPhone flagships. Unfortunately, the iPhone 8 will only be available in limited amounts, so those who want to have it will probably have to wait a little longer before they can actually grab one.
