HMD global is still to release its flagship handset, the Nokia 8. There might still be a few days to go until its official launch, however, its major specs already leaked. A new image depicting the handset with the benchmark result on screen confirms everything we’ve heard before about the smartphone. The device in the picture is model number TA-1012, which is definitely associated to the Nokia 8. This model number surfaced before and it is one of the models of the upcoming Nokia flagship. Unsurprisingly, the image comes from Slashleaks.
As we already heard before, the Nokia 8 will feature a QHD display. It’s not yet clear whether it will be a 5.2-inch one or a 5.3-inch one, only the resolution of the screen is certain. The upcoming Nokia handset will sport the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. You can find this SoC in the majority of current flagship smartphones. The handset will reportedly include 4GB of RAM and probably 64GB of internal storage. Rumor had it that there will be another variant, including 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. In the beginning, the Nokia 8 will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It’s safe to assume that it will be among the first handsets to get the update to Android 8, though.
The Nokia flagship will definitely feature a dual rear camera setup. It will reportedly consist of two 12MP sensors and Carl Zeiss optics. On the front, it seems there will be another 12MP snapper for selfies and video calls. We rarely get front- facing cameras as powerful as the primary ones. It really seems that the camera is one of the selling points of the Nokia 8. Reports suggest that HMD Global will officially unveil the flagship smartphone on August 16. The event will take place in London. The smartphone will become available in three color variants: Steel, Blue, and Gold- Copper. It’s not quite clear whether all color variants will be available from the start or at least one of them will arrive later.
There are only a few days to go until the official launch event. Then, we will find out everything there is to know about the handset that could bring Nokia back its former glory. One thing is sure: even though the new handsets don’t have the modern design of other flagships, they have a solid build and they will probably be some of the most reliable handsets on the market.
