The Nokia 8 will be the company’s first true flagship handset in the last few years. Even though its launch is set for August 16, the majority of its key specs already leaked. Now, we also know how much the handset will cost in Europe. According to an internal document from Vodafone Romania, the unlocked Nokia 8 will have a €517.42 price tag. This is great news as previous rumors suggested a higher price for the upcoming Nokia flagship smartphone. To be more exact, previous reports stated that the Nokia handset will cost €589. Of course, this price could also be accurate, for other countries in Europe. It’s highly likely that in the US the smartphone will have a similar price.
The Nokia 8 will reportedly be a true flagship smartphone. While the design will be similar to the existing models, with minor changes, under the hood there will be a whole lot of power. The upcoming Nokia flagship will supposedly come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and will include up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. There will reportedly be a variant that will ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Both variants will support additional storage.
The handset will feature a 5.3-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels which will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone will sport a 13MP dual rear camera setup with Carl Zeiss optics and a 12MP front- facing camera for selfies and video calls. Just like any other true flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8 will feature a fingerprint sensor, fast battery charging, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The handset will become available in Tempered Blue, Silver, Copper Gold, and Black, according to Vodafone Romania. All color variants offer the same metallic body that not only looks great but also feels premium.
The Nokia 8 will definitely be a great flagship smartphone, even though its design is not as impressive as the one of other flagships. Nevertheless, HMD Global will deliver a handset with a solid build and powerful specs, worthy of the Nokia brand. The Finnish company could get back in the game with this smartphone, that’s for sure. Now that we know it will have a reasonable price tag we are even more certain of the success of this handset.
