Nowadays we all use smartphones. Even so, folder phones still have their magic. This is why Samsung keeps launching this kind of handsets. The tech giant released the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 last year in China. Now, the handset became available in the company’s home country also. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 looks like an old school device but it is also smart at the same time. So, if you want a smartphone but would like to have a folder phone too, you can have them both in this device. It is also quite affordable with its $260 price tag.
The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is definitely an eye-catching handset. First of all, we are not used to seeing folder phones anymore. Everyone will notice the Galaxy Folder 2 thanks to its nice design. While it is similar to older folder phones, it still suggests that it is more modern and powerful than the handset you still keep in the back of your drawer. There is an LTE version of the handset and a 3G one. Both will become available in South Korea these days according to the manufacturing company.
The smartphone measures 122 x 60.2 x 15.4mm and weighs 160g. It looks good and it will be available in two color variants: black and burgundy. Both of them are beautiful, even though it’s hard to imagine many men will opt for the burgundy handset. The 3.8-inch display of the device offers a WVGA resolution. While this isn’t an impressive resolution by today’s standards, users will still get a nice visual experience. The smartphone also features an 8 MP primary camera and a 5 MP selfie shooter.
Even though it does have smartphone functions, don’t expect the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 to be as powerful as the Galaxy S8. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with four cores clocked at 1.4GHz. The handset will include 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The smartphone also features a microSD card slot, so users will be able to expand the storage by up to 256 GB. Unfortunately, the handset doesn’t run on Android Nougat. However, users will get the next best thing as it supports Android 6.0. A 1,950mAh battery will keep things running.
