Microsoft will host a big event in Shanghai on Tuesday, May 23. At this event, everyone expects the company to reveal the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5. However, the tablet won’t come with this moniker, it will reportedly simply be the Surface Pro, ditching the number. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5, on the other hand, better highlights the fact that this new device is the successor of the Surface Pro 4. Given the fact that it’s only a refreshed version of its predecessor, it’s a little strange that Microsoft went for the simple Surface Pro moniker instead. That would normally suggest that it is an entirely new tablet, which is not.
The Microsoft Surface Pro, according to the leaked images, looks a lot like the Surface Pro 4 did. In fact, they are almost identical. The changes come in the inside of the device. Unfortunately, no one knows anything about the exact specs of the upcoming convertible tablet. One thing we can safely assume is that Microsoft will deliver a device with an updated processor and that it will run on Windows 10. Basically, it will be a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with slightly improved features. Given the fact that the Surface Pro 4 was around for more than 18 months now, we expected something more spectacular.
Even though we don’t know much about the Microsoft Surface Pro, except for what it will look like, we do know that its accessories will become available in four different color versions. These include the keyboard, the stylus, and the mouse. The color of the accessories will be similar to the color options the recently launched Surface Laptop arrived in. However, these won’t be identical to the ones of the Surface Laptop. The accessories for the Microsoft Surface Pro will also launch at the Shanghai event on May 23.
Microsoft has not confirmed the launch of the new tablet for this date. However, everyone suspects the Shanghai event will be the one where we will finally get to see the new Microsoft Surface Pro tablet. The successor for the Surface Pro 4 is long overdue, so we hope rumors are accurate, and the Surface Pro will launch on May 23 alongside its accessories. Unfortunately, Microsoft won’t live stream, so we won’t be able to watch the unveiling live. We are sure that Microsoft will let us know if they unveil a new tablet, though. We’ll just have to wait until Tuesday and see what the tech giant prepared for us.
