Artificial intelligence is all around us nowadays. The latest gadget to feature Amazon’s Alexa voice service is the Ecobee4 thermostat. Even though that’s what it primarily is, a thermostat, the Ecobee4 is actually much more than that. It is almost an AmazonEcho you can mount on the wall. This device is not only able to control the temperature in your home, it is also capable of giving you information regarding your schedule or even your commute time. All this, in a device small enough to be easily mounted on a wall without looking awful.
All users need to do in order to control this gadget with their voice is to wake it up. How do they do this? By simply saying, Alexa. The Ecobee4 is always waiting for its owner to ask for something. The gadget is great for energy saving also. Once the user says they’re away, the Ecobee4 will turn the heat lower and will also turn off smart switches. The gadget can save energy even when the users are home. It is able to detect a room’s occupancy and ensure the right temperature for every room. Users won’t need to have a separate Ecobee4 thermostat in every room. Instead, they can opt for temperature sensors that will share their information with the main gadget.
The Ecobee4 is already available for pre-orders on the manufacturing company’s website. It will become available in stores starting May 15, for $249. For those who don’t already own an Amazon Echo or a Google Home device, the Ecobee4 could be a nice alternative. It looks nice, it is smart, and it is able to ensure the comfort you need in your home. A pair of separate room sensors will set customers back $79. There is also a bundle which contains an Ecobee4 thermostat and one room sensor. This is available for pre-orders for $313.
