Last year, when the Motorola Moto Z Force first launched, it was only available on Verizon. it was safe to assume that this will be the case with the upcoming Moto Z2 Force too. However, things seem to have changed. This time around, the Z2 Force won’t be exclusive to only one carrier. Instead, it will be available on Verizon and T-Mobile. The information was confirmed by renown leakster, Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks. Even though Blass only confirmed that the Moto Z2 force will also be available on T-Mobile, this might not be the only other carrier to offer the Moto smartphone. Otherwise, we don’t see why he would have added “for instance” at the end of his post.
It’s highly likely that the Verizon version will have the “Droid Edition” moniker added to its official model name. As for T-Mobile, it will probably stick with the Moto Z2 Force name, nothing else added. We now know which carriers will offer the smartphone. Unfortunately, there is no information yet regarding the pricing or availability of the upcoming handset. If Motorola will choose to wait for exactly one year after the launch of its first Z Force, we won’t see this new baby until June. However, it wouldn’t be totally awkward for the company to release it sooner.
The Moto Z2 Force will look a lot like its predecessor. Leaked renders depict the same slim body and protruding camera setup. The changes come from the inside of the handset. The Z2 Force will sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and it will run on Android’s latest version. This already makes it better than the previous model, doesn’t it? The 3.5mm audio jack also makes a comeback with the Z2 Force. It was missing on the initial Z Force, but it seems the company decided not to ditch it after all. The dual rear camera setup is also a new feature that was not present in the 2016 Moto Z Force.
The fact that the smartphone will be available on multiple carriers is definitely good news. Not for Verizon, but for customers who would have liked to have it without a two-year contract from this specific US carrier. This way, customers will be able to choose from multiple options, they won’t have to go with one carrier only because it is an exclusive device to that specific company. This move could also influence the pricing of the device, making it more profitable for the smartphone users.
