Motorola somehow managed to remain one of the most popular smartphone manufacturers in the past few years. That is despite the fact that they didn’t really manage to deliver many high-end devices lately. Or perhaps exactly this is why they managed to stay popular. Instead of bombing customers with great smartphones they can’t afford, Motorola continued to give people exactly what they needed: decent specs for a decent price. Now, the company takes it even further with the Motorola Moto C and the Moto C Plus. These are the cheapest handsets by Motorola. However, the low price also means they are entry-level smartphones.
Thanks to their collaboration with OnLeaks, Android Authority gained access to renders and 360 videos of both the Motorola Moto C and the Moto C Plus. The first thing we need to state about these handsets is they actually have the same size 5-inch displays. What makes the Moto C Plus different from the Moto C is its higher resolution. The differences in the size of the case are quite minor. This is quite unusual, but then again, the sky is the limit when OEMs decide on what to deliver to their customers. Another difference that is shown in the images is that the C Plus has a minor camera bump, which is not noticeable on the Motorola Moto C. Other differences reside in the specs.
Both handsets from the Moto C series sport MediaTek chipsets. The C will actually be available with two different chipset versions, while the C plus will offer the 64-bit chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz. Also, Moto C customers will be able to opt for 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. The C Plus will only come with 16GB of storage. When it comes to RAM, the situation changes. Tha Moto C is only available with 1GB of RAM, while the C Plus will offer 1GB or 2GB of RAM, depending on the market. As for the cameras, the Motorola Moto C packs a 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear snapper. The C Plus, on the other hand, has an 8MP back camera.
The battery si also different, depending on the model. Tha smaller C sibling packs a slightly small 2,350mAh battery. The larger brother offers a 4,000mAh battery, which is a lot more impressive. Both variants of Motorola’s cheapest series feature a micro-USB port, a headphone jack, and rear-mounted speakers. There is no official information regarding the pricing of the smartphones yet. However, considering the prices of other Motorola budget phones and the fact that these will be the cheapest ones yet, we could see prices under $100.
