You play as Mae in the well-known adventure game Night in the Woods, who leaves college and heads back to her hometown. There, you can get to know all of her friends and not-so-friends while conversing and doing little to nothing. When it first came out, this game truly struck a chord with players since it is emotional and narrative-driven.
Although less well-known, overland travel is just as fascinating. It’s a rogue-like game which you traverse the USA from east to west while stopping at various locations to pick up fuel and supplies. However, there are unusual monsters and other perils, so you’ll need to use strategy if you want to survive as long as you can. There is a lot to learn because there are many different personalities and random elements involved.
