Now that the second week of the Playstation Mid-Year Sale is underway, there’s a new bunch of games that you can grab at discounted prices. It seems that the first week of the Mid-Year Sale may have had better games, but there is no shortage of games this week either. Like the last week, there are a few big games that everyone is going to take note off. These big three are God of War III Remastered ($7.99), Grand Theft Auto V ($38.99), and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection ($14.99).
If you’re a fan of the God of War series and have yet to play the third, you can’t beat the price of such a good game for less than $10. Grand Theft Auto is receiving a decent price for roughly $40, but the game should be cheaper. Grand Theft Auto is an extremely popular franchise, but the game has been out for so long and you rarely see a price drop for it go under $35. If you still haven’t gotten Grand Theft Auto V yet, this may be your best chance. Although, it’s got to be getting close to a significant price drop sometime in the near future. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is an amazing bundle of games for $15. If you play these games with friends, it’s almost impossible to compare to other games on with amount of fun these games provide. Convince a buddy to buy it with you and proceed to have a blast shooting your way through some baddies.
While those are the big ones, there are plenty of other games that you can grab for pretty cheap. Here is a list highlighting some of the best ones that you can purchase for under $20:
Note – All of the prices are the Playstation+ prices
SOMA ($11.99) – If you’re a fan of the horror genre, this game would be worth checking out. The best way to get a grasp of how this game plays would be to watch a review or gameplay video. It’s pretty creepy.
Armello ($7.99) – If you like strategy board games, or Game of Thrones give this one a look. It’s a board game that pits animals against each other that are fighting to achieve the throne. The game is quite interesting and is sort of like a cross between Risk, Game of Thrones, and a strategy card game.
All of the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles ($4.99) – If you’re really into Assassin’s Creed and haven’t played any of these games, now would be the time to grab them since they’re half off. The games are much shorter than the main games, however they are still popular among Assassin’s Creed fans.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round ($15.99) – That popular fighting game with hot girls in skimpy clothing. Although, the fan service in this one isn’t as cringey this time around, there’s still the fair share of girls in bikinis. If you like fighting games, this is considered the best Dead or Alive fighting game thus far by many fans.
Divekick ($1.99) – Simplicity at it’s best. Another one to check out if you like fighting games. This game is about as simple as a fighting game can get with only two actions you can do, dive and kick. It seems a bit weird at first, but the game plays nicely and the game is unique enough to be entertaining. It’s another great game to play with friends.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition ($2.99) – If you like side-scrolling action games, this one is almost a must buy. Guacamelee! has received very good reviews by pretty much everyone that plays it.
Never Alone ($4.49) – Another side-scroller that may be worth checking out. The game looks beautiful and the setting is interesting. This puzzle platformer could be right up your alley if you love games like Limbo or Fez.
Super Meat Boy ($5.99) – Another platformer that pays homage to the old school platform games that got the entire video game industry rolling. The controls feel great, its super challenging, and it’s a pretty hilarious game to play. Be prepared to get angry though.
These are the most notable games that are up for grabs during the second week of the Playstation Mid-Year Sale. Of course there are plenty more games that you can buy with over 150 games that are available for purchase this week. Head on over to the Playstation Store to see the full list of games up for grabs.
