With the Playstation Mid-Year Sale underway, there’s more than a few games that Playstation 4 owners may want to grab now. If you’re a Playstation+ member, some of these sale prices can get as high as 90% off the regular price. As with every sale, there are a lot of good games, and a lot of bad games that are going to try and entice you to buy them. So, push those bad games to the back of your noggin and let’s highlight the good ones that you may want to pick up.
Every large video game sale usually has a couple big games. For the first week of the sale, the two biggest games that everyone is going to be looking at is Doom and Street Fighter V. If you’re a fan of first-person shooters and fighting games, now would be the time to grab these games if you’ve been holding off. Many people like to wait for a big sale like this to grab new games, and Doom is well worth the price tag of $35.99 if your a Ps+ member. If you’re itching to grab a fighting game, Street Fighter V is the face of the genre. For $40.19, you could be schooling fools with your “Shoryuken!” if you’re willing to reach for your wallet.
Everything else on sale can pretty much be picked up for under $20. A lot of these games are older ones that you may not have grabbed yet, or indie games that pop on sale after being out for some time. Here’s a list highlighting some of the games that are well worth some consideration:
Resident Evil Revelation 2: Deluxe Edition ($17.99) – A must buy for any Resident Evil fan. If you’re into the horror genre or you just like anything and everything undead and zombies, check it out.
Little Big Planet 3 ($5.99) – Can’t go wrong with this one. The Little Big Planet games have become the poster boy of casual games for Playstation. Great game for a great price.
J-Star Victory VS+ ($11.99) – Kind of like the Smash Bros. for anime, it’s a fighter that pits characters all across popular anime against each other. If you’re big into anime and fighting games, it’s probably worth it.
LEGO The Hobbit ($7.99) – If you like Lego and anything related to Lord of the Rings, this could be worth it for you. The LEGO video games are always surprisingly fun to play, especially with friends.
Omega Quintet ($3.99) – This one has gotten very mixed reviews. Some say it’s good, some say it’s bad. However, if you’re a fan of the JRPG genre, the $3.99 price point may make the game worth it.
Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse (7.99) and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge ($1.99) – The Shantae games have been well received from almost everyone that gives them a play through. If you like side-scrolling indie games, both of these games are should definitely be considered.
Tetris Ultimate ($2.99) – A no-brainer here. If you’re a fan of Tetris, for $2.99? Why not grab this one?
Those are some of the most notable games you may want to check out, but there are plenty of others. Check out the sale on your Playstation console or go to the Playstation Store website and see for yourself. There are plenty of other games on sale that aren’t on this list.
