The good people at Noclip are digitizing hours of gaming footage from a forgotten archive of tapes. Old video game trailers, cancelled projects, and E3 press conferences are available on YouTube for free. Sony’s E3 2006 presser has been restored, and its 2010 presentation is now available in the best quality.
This two-hour show, embedded above, isn’t talked about much but has some memorable moments. The show has its ups and downs during PS3’s turnaround, but there’s plenty to like. Kevin Butler, the star of PS3’s American ad campaign, gives a stirring speech, Gabe Newell surprises everyone by announcing Portal 2 for PS3, and PlayStation Plus is announced.
We also get new trailers and demos for Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Gran Turismo 5, and more. Sony promotes motion-controlled games for families with PS Move, which is funny to look back on after a decade.
