Star Wars Battlefront 2 is aiming to dwarf the original game in just about every way, from there being an actual campaign this time and overall just having a lot more content for fans to dive into. We’re now getting more information on some of the characters within the game, and today we’re learning about perhaps the most iconic character of the series.
EA has officially pulled the curtain back on Darth Vader’s abilities in Star Wars Battlefront 2, giving fans a good idea of what to expect when they play as him. According to the PlayStation Blog, “Anger fuels the dark side of the Force, and Vader’s rage is nearly boundless. By drawing from his potent fury, Vader can periodically increase both his durability and his damage output, becoming stronger as a battle unfolds. Vader is always dangerous, but when he calls upon his anger, he is nearly unstoppable.”
Elsewhere in the blog post it is revealed that Vader will be able to attack at range with his lightsaber via a powerful throw, causing it to become like a boomerang as it goes plunging into enemy ranks and then returns to him. Of course, he will also be able to utilize his iconic Force choke ability. This telekinetic move lifts enemies off the ground and weakens them, and Vader has the ability to then drop them wherever he chooses. I can already see the gameplay possibilities with this one.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is in development by EA Dice for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and is scheduled to launch on November 17. The game has a lot riding on it due to the criticism that the first game received from fans and critics alike, which was largely due to the lack of overall content. However, buzz for the game has been very positive so far, and preview events and beta periods seem to suggest that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be the followup to the first that everyone was hoping it would be.
