Wildstar is not exactly in its best shape, and even when the game shifted to F2P, the population was still not pleasing in size.
Carbine, Wildstar’s developing company has been showing up in plenty of posts lately and this is not the first time that news arrives related to a key member leaving the team. This time, it is Cory J. Herndon, Wildstar’s lead writer, who has been spotted on Twitter talking about his “post-Carbine era”.
“(Business) day one of my post-Carbine era. Think I’ll start with editing some VO samples and preparing for phone interviews.”
Twitter members were really shocked to see this post and reacted accordingly. If you check out the actual post, you will see plenty of surprised reactions. Cory J. Herndon seems to have plans of doing VOs in the future, according to his reactions, and we are really curious about the reasons for this sudden decision. Wildstar is currently heading towards Steam, but we are not entirely convinced that this will be enough to restore the player base to its former glory. Herndon’s Twitter profile now says “(former) lead writer on WildStar” which clearly indicates that this was not a joke.
Wildstar seems to be a sort of black sheep on NCSoft’s list of pretty amazing games that are published, but even though there are plenty of bad opinions around about the cartoony MMORPG, it still seems like a game that you can casually pass time with and so we really hope that the developer and publisher will together manage to somehow turn the tide.
