Telltale Games is gearing up to release the spin-off to their popular Walking Dead series soon, with The Walking Dead: Michonne launching tomorrow. The company has released the game’s launch trailer, which you can check out at the bottom of this post. The game certainly is shaping up to be another intense series from Telltale Games, with the first episode starting off with plenty of action. In the episode Michonne joins Pete and his crew on a ship called The Companion, which is travelling along the coast searching for survivors and supplies. The series is set to be a 3-episode arc, though exact details on release dates for the other two episodes have not yet been revealed by Telltale Games.
Here’s what to expect from The Walking Dead: Michonne:
“The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries stars the iconic, blade-wielding character made famous by Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic books. The story explores the period in the comic book timeline where Michonne leaves Rick, their group, and her katana behind, in order to deal with emotional demons from her past. Players will discover what took Michonne away from her trusted allies, and what brought her back to them.
The premiere episode, ‘In too Deep’, finds Michonne aboard ‘The Companion’, a sailing ship captained be Pete and his crew, as they look for survivors and supplies along the coast of the Chesapeake Bay. When a desperate radio signal calling for help draws them to the scene of a horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew of the Companion are lead to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which just may be harboring those responsible for the carnage.
Surrounded by the dead and mistrustful of the living, you – as Michonne – will choose how the story flows through the choices you make, in this three-part episodic miniseries.”
Rumor has it that Telltale Games is releasing The Walking Dead: Michonne as a means to tide fans over until they release The Walking Dead: Season 3. The company has not yet revealed when they will release the third season of the popular series, though more news is expected to be coming later this year.
