We’ve been hearing about a Walking Dead series from Telltale Games that focuses on the character Michonne for a while now, though now it has finally been given a release date. The Walking Dead: Michonne will launch on February 23, with the 3-episode narrative diving deeper into the original comic stories that the series is based on. It is apparently taking place during issues 126 and 139 of The Walking Dead comic, which is far in the future compared to where the popular TV show is currently at.
The first episode is called In Too Deep and the story is as follows: “In this premiere episode, ‘In Too Deep,’ Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.”
The second episode is called Give No Shelter and is slated to launch next month, with the third and final episode called What We Deserve launching in April. Telltale is set to be holding an extended preview event for The Walking Dead: Michonne on February 14 at 8:30pm ET on their YouTube channel, which will show off the first five minutes of the first episode.
The Walking Dead: Michonne will cost $14.99 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Mobile. A third season of Telltale’s Walking Dead series is expected to launch later this year, though an official release date has not yet been given. Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: Season Two launched at the end of 2013 before concluding in mid-2014, so it has definitely been a while since we’ve gotten to dive back into the world that really brought widespread acclaim for the developer.
