Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is one of the best games that the PlayStation Vita has to offer, though next month it will be coming to a new platform. Developer Spike Chunsoft has revealed that the murder mystery novel game will be making its way to Steam next month, though an official release date was not provided. However, the devs did release a new announcement trailer for the game, which you can watch at the bottom of this post. The developers had previously teased that this announcement was coming by posting a message on Twitter warning fans that things were about to get steamy. While this could have been a number of disturbing things considering the series it relates to, thankfully it just ended up being a port announcement.
While it’s fantastic that Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc will be making its way to the PC for even more people to experience its twisted gameplay, this is still a tough pill to swallow for those clutching to their PlayStation Vitas. This announcement marks yet another exclusive game from the failing handheld’s dwindling exclusive lineup that is jumping ship to another platform, making it an increasingly difficult task to convince people to even bother purchasing the system at all. This marks the first game in the series to make it to PC so far, though it remains to be seen if the the other games in the series also end up coming to PC at some point.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc follows a group of talented teens who are locked inside of a school and told that the only way they can escape is if they murder another student and get away with it. The original game launched for the PSP in 2010 in Japan before being localized on the PlayStation Vita in 2014. That game was followed by the direct sequel Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and spin-off Danganronpa Another episode: Ultra Despair Girls, with the third game in the main series set to release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita later this year.
