Dying Light is set to be receiving new story DLC called The Following, and now a new story trailer has been released that give’s everyone a peek at what is in store. Techland is definitely going for a different vibe with The Following DLC, as they said that, “In the expansion, we’re aiming for a bit of a different mood to the story. We all love some old good mystery, whether it’s X-Files or Twin Peaks, so that’s an element we’re introducing to our world in The Following.” The DLC will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 9 and will cost $19.99 across all platforms, though it is included in the game’s Season Pass.
Techland will also be releasing Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC at the same time as the standalone DLC. This updated version of the game contains the original game, The Following DLC, Bozak Horde mode, Be the Zombie mode, Cuisine & Cargo challenge missions, Ultimate Survivor Bundle and all previous content updates for $59.99. Numerous gameplay tweaks have been incorporated into the game since it launched at the beginning of last year, meaning that the Enhanced Edition of the game will certainly be the best version of the game to pick up if you haven’t jumped on board yet.
For those who don’t know, Dying Light is a first-person open-world survival horror game that centers around an undercover agent named Kyle Crane. Crane is sent in to infiltrate a quarantine zone in a zombie-infested city named Harran, where the few surviving members of the population are trying to stay alive while also searching for a cure for the outbreak. Perhaps the most interesting mechanic of the game is the day-night cycle, which has travelling around the city at night being a fool’s errand as zombies become far more viscous and will hunt you down either until you escape them or you end up as their late evening snack.
