Rise of the Tomb Raider is one of the better games this year that not many people got to play. Its dreaded November 10th release date saw it compete with one of the huge heavy hitters of the year, Fallout 4, plus it was marred by being an Xbox Exclusive title. No wonder it only sold 330,000 copies in its first week, and took up until this week to reach 1 Million. All that being said, Square Enix is looking to right all of its financial wrongs within the next month.
The latest Tomb Raider title has finally received an official PC edition release date by Steam, January 28. It will have 4k support and apparently a collectors edition re-release. Square Enix is offering the game in its 60$, 90$ and 150$ format with the collectors edition receiving a statue of Laura, a jade necklace, a journal and some in game content. What else would a budding tomb raider need?
The game got a great review by Metacritic with a 82 and subsequent reviews never going under an 8/10. So far the biggest complaint about the game is that it was an Xbox Exclusive. This might have led to a slow retail movement but most likely it had to do with the fact that it came out on one of the biggest holiday release lineups of all time. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be better off within the month but boasting a Late 2016 PS4 release is hardly going to help. Assuming that a large part of the fan base was left out of the Xbox Exclusive release and the PC edition release will bolster the games popularity, it still will be lacking until it comes out for the PS4.
Square Enix and Steam have also released the minimum requirements for the game.
PC Minimum Specifications:
- OS: Windows 7 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 650 2 GB or AMD HD7770 2 GB
- RAM: 6 GB
- HD Space: 25 GB

- Input: Mouse + Keyboard
Nothing too out of the ordinary there, but it is exciting to see how gorgeous this already gorgeous game looks on PC. Keep posted for the Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 edition release date during the holidays of 2016.
