The world has never been as excited for the Star Wars franchise as in the past few months, with the release of the video game Star Wars Battlefront and the new movie The Force Awakens. Launching the two close to each other wasn’t coincidental and many thought that content from the new movie would eventually be released for the DICE developed shooter game. Unfortunately it looks like this won’t be the case.
A few hours ago a fan has asked the EA Star Wars official Twitter profile about the possible inclusion of The Force Awakens characters in future DLC packs. The rep behind the profile revealed that the team is focusing on the original trilogy so content from outside the original movies won’t be added.
Even though space battles play a big part in the Star Wars franchise, it looks like they won’t be added to Star Wars Battlefront through DLC, as the team is focusing on air battles and dogfights that take place on the vistas of planets.
Star Wars Battlefront is an action / shooter game developed by DICE, the team behind the popular Battlefield series and more. The game features plenty of content taken from the classic trilogy such as popular characters like Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Leia Organa, Hano Solo, non playable characters like R2-D2, C-3PO and others. Star Wars Battlefront, like a few other modern shooters, doesn’t feature a campaign mode but only cooperative missions that can also be played offline and an online multiplayer mode which supports up to 40 players in one match.
Star Wars Battlefront is now available in all regions on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. We will let you know more about the game’s future DLC packs as soon as more comes in on it so stay tuned for all the latest news.
