No further explanation has been given regarding the game’s delay.
The Definitive Edition of Ori and the Blind Forest was announced at this year’s Gamescom convention. At the time, Moon Studios stated that the Definitive Edition will incorporate fan feedback and will include new areas, game mechanics, and the possibility of new abilities. The re-release will launch for Xbox One and PC. Pricing for the game has not yet been announced.
Earlier this year, Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler spoke about the future of the franchise and where it could possibly go next. Mahler stated that there was a lot of lore that was cut from the final game and that he hopes there will be a sequel someday. He went on to state that Moon Studios is open for a collaboration with Microsoft to develop a movie adaptation for the game.
Ori and the Blind Forest is now available for Xbox One and PC through Steam. We’ll keep you updated on any news and announcements related to the game so stay tuned.
