The Assassin’s Creed film opens almost exactly one year from today but the marketing campaign has already begun. After being inactive for over a month, the Assassin’s Creed movie Twitter account posted up a new tweet which reads “12.21.16” and includes an image of a business card for Alan Rikkin.

For those unfamiliar with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Alan Rikkin is the CEO of Abstergo Industries, a fictional company that plays a major role in each game. The business card contains two US numbers which if called, will lead you to this voicemail message from Rikkin:
“Hello, you’ve reached the voicemail of Alan Rikkin. I’ll be out of the office on business until March 25 with limited availability.”
The voice of Rikkin is provided Jeremy Irons, which confirms what his role is in the film. There is speculation that March 25, 2016 could be when Ubisoft and 20th Century Fox are planning to release some sort of announcement or trailer for the film. March 25, 2016 is also the release date for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which would provide a good advertising platform for a big blockbuster film. Furthermore, both films will feature Irons in prominent roles which further adds to the speculation.
20th Century Fox also recently launched a faux website for Abstergo Industries, but the site currently has nothing of interest other than the company’s logo and a list of 11 cities around the world: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, Madrid, London, Paris, Osaka-Kobe, Shanghai, and Moscow.
Shortly after the Alan Rikkin business card image was tweeted out, Assassin’s Creed content director Azaïzia Aymar responded with his own tweet and implied that there may be some hidden clues that have yet to be discovered.
Merry Christmas. Use your eagle vision guys! https://t.co/g8wOPtFq6W
