While the Battle of Jakku DLC for Star Wars Battlefront was originally only available to those that have pre-ordered the game, the DLC is now available to download for free for everyone else. The Battle of Jakku DLC just went live a little while ago and is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC. While PlayStation 4 gamers will be able to download the free DLC directly from the PlayStation Store, PC gamers will need to download it from EA’s Origin client. The download is expected to go live for Xbox One gamers later this evening.
The Battle of Jakku DLC for Star Wars Battlefront thrusts players into an epic battle that devastated the planet Jakku as it will appear in the upcoming movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Thus, the content will serve as a great appetizer for when that highly-anticipated movie launches later this month. The battle is set nearly 30 years before the events of The Force Awakens and also comes packed with a new 40-player mode called Turning Point. Much more DLC will be coming next year both as a part of the game’s controversial season pass as well as maps and modes that will be added for free.
Apart from this new DLC Star Wars Battlefront has also received some pretty major updates across all available platforms recently. These updates fixed things like vehicle physics, gun balancing tweaks, display adjustments and much more to improve the game’s multiplayer-focused experience. Despite the updates that have already been released for the new shooter, the game has been very stable online and players don’t have too much to complain about from a technical standpoint.
