A recent leak may have revealed some unexpected information about the Pixel 7a.
According to the leak, the 7a might have wireless charging and a 90Hz refresh rate.
The leak implies that the phone will also get a new camera system.
The A-series, Google’s mid-range phone, gives up a lot of features in order to be more reasonably priced. Whether through lowering the screen’s quality, using less expensive build materials, and more. But according to a recent leak, the Pixel 7a might turn out to be a little more expensive than anticipated.
Since Android 13 QPR1 Beta 1 developer Kuba Wojciechowski allegedly dug into the source code, the codename Lynx (L10) has been circulating. This unidentified smartphone was suspected to be either a Pixel Ultra or a Pixel Mini. But according to a fresh leak from Wojciechowski, this gadget is actually the Pixel 7a.
The developer claims on Twitter that after looking into the camera drivers for the device, they discovered “references to ‘Pixel 22 Mid-range’ compared to ‘Pixel 22 Premium’ on Pixel 7/Pro.” This would seem to indicate that the Pixel 7a is at issue.
Wojciechowski also claims that sources have informed them that the Pixel 7a may have a 90Hz 1080p display. The highest refresh rate ever on an A-series gadget would be this one. Another first-possible item is 5W wireless charging.
Additionally, it appears that the Pixel 7a’s camera setup may change. Rumors suggested that the Lynx might have GN1, IMX787, and IMX712 lenses. The GN1 has been eliminated, according to Wojciechowski, and the camera sensors are now “referred to as ‘l10 wide’ (IMX787) and ‘l10 UW’ (IMX712) with no dedicated tele lens.”
The Pixel 7a may represent a significant improvement over the Pixel 6 if these reports are accurate.
