A new third-party Switch controller lineup is on the horizon, with the 8BitDo Zero 2 Bluetooth Gamepad currently being in development. Amazon has recently published a product page for these new controllers, revealing several pieces of new information for those interested in shaking things up when playing Switch.
These controllers are on the smaller side of things when it comes to controllers, having more of a retro NES look that is more of an oval rather than a rectangle. There are three colors to choose from, which are Pink, Turquoise and Yellow. The latter two colors look very similar to the two color variants for the recently released Switch Lite, so if you’re keen on those colors then these are for you.
The following is a breakdown of these controllers from the Amazon page:
“Zero 2 is key chain sized bluetooth controller to take with you wherever you go. It weights just 20 grams boasts, a rechargeable lithium ion battery with 8 hours of play time and is compatible with Switch, PC, macOS and Android.”
While the Amazon page lists the release date as being December 31st of this year, this is likely a placeholder. Amazon typically does this when it doesn’t currently know the release date, and will be updated with specific information closer to launch. The price is also currently unavailable, so it remains to be seen when that information is provided.
