A new RPG from developer Spike Chunsoft called Zanki Zero: Last Beginning is set to arrive early next month, and it certainly looks like it will be an interesting experience. The ESRB recently released its rating summary for the game, giving the game an M (for mature) rating.
The main descriptors for this M rating are Blood, Gore, Partial Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language and Violence. However, they also provided a description to go along with the descriptors, which is the following:
“This is a role-playing game in which players follow eight characters as they try to unravel the mysteries of their previous lives. Players explore dungeons and battle fantastical creatures (e.g., zombies, tentacle monsters) in turn-based combat. Cutscenes depict more dramatic instances of violence: a character stabbed repeatedly in a series of still images; characters impaled on spikes/swords; a tentacle bursting from the chest of a character, splattering her with blood. Some wounded characters are briefly depicted with their faces melting/disintegrating.
The game contains some sexual/suggestive material: female characters in bed, with hair or bedsheets barely covering their breasts; a silhouette image of a teacher grabbing a student’s hands and propositioning her in class (e.g., “Trust me, no matter what happened, we’ll have the advantage if we lie together”); a silhouette image of a woman (fully clothed) sitting on a bed next to her father (e.g., “She’s so close with her father…Yeah…maybe a little too close.”).
The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the dialogue.”
Zanki Zero: Last Beginning launches for PS4 and PC on April 9th.
