PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) enters its full release phase today, with the game being updated to version 1.0. Xbox Australia took the opportunity to celebrate the occasion, though they went about it in a truly unique way with a grease-proof Xbox One controller.
For those who are unfamiliar with PUBG, winning a match gets you a “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” message, which obviously would lead to some greasy hands in real life. This controller means that you can enjoy all of the greasy chicken dinners you can stomach and still keep on playing. A video showing off this new controller was also released, which you can watch at the bottom of this post.
“Carrying the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds signature color scheme and designed with winning in mind, the award-winning Xbox wireless controllers that fans know and love has been applied with a patented special coating resistant to grease and oil. The hand sprayed urethane coating is impervious to minor scratches, water, and of course – roast chicken grease. To finish, each unit is stamped with the PUBG logo and its unique number.”
PUBG is now available in its full release version on both PC and Xbox One. While a release on PS4 hasn’t been ruled out, there’s currently no release window for when that version might launch.
