Owlboy has already received heaps of praise from those who have played the PC and Switch versions, but the game will be coming to two new platforms very soon. Developer D-Pad Studio has revealed that the platform adventure game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 10th, meaning we’re just about a week away from launch.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Owlboy is described as a story-driven platform adventure game, which is set within a charming world in the clouds. There are plenty of obstacles and enemies to overcome, resulting in a grand adventure that shouldn’t be missed. Players control a mute character named Otus, who must deal with the sudden appearance of sky pirates in the midst of his personal struggles of owl-hood.
There are many aspects of the game that are adored, but one of the biggest is definitely the pixel art. The retro aesthetic that the game delivers is old school while also being very detailed, offering a colorful world that oozes charm. The game features a unique blend of platforming and flight, with Otus being able to carry his friends and utilize them as gunners that each have their own unique abilities.
Owlboy is available now on PC and Switch, and the digital versions of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will release on April 10th. For those of you wanting to get these latest versions of the game on disc, the PS4 and Xbox One physical versions will release on May 29th.
