Hyrule Warriors was an excellent game that released for the Wii U several years back, but due to the console’s poor sales not a whole lot of people got to play it. Well, now that the Switch is out and selling like hot cakes, a new version of the game is coming to the console to bring it to a much bigger audience.
Nintendo announced Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition today, revealing that it will release at some point this Spring. This is essentially an ultimate edition of the game, as it comes with all previous DLC and all of the content featured in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game. Not only that, but there will also be new outfits for both Link and Zelda that are based off of their Breath of the Wild outfits.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Hyrule Warriors takes the gameplay from Dynasty Warriors and mixes it with the characters and setting of The Legend of Zelda series. Despite being a very odd combination, it ended up being something that worked really well and received solid reviews at launch. Many still had some issues with the repetitive combat that the Dynasty Warriors series is known for, but the added charm of the Zelda series made up for most of it.
There will be much more information coming regarding Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition for Switch, such as a concrete release date. We’ll be sure to bring you that information as soon as it becomes available.
