The release of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is on the horizon, with the RPG set to release this March. Now the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has released its rating summary for the game, with the board giving the game a Teen rating due to Fantasy Violence and Mild Blood.
The following is the complete ESRB rating summary for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom:
“This is an adventure role-playing game in which players assume the role of a man helping a half-human child defeat an evil force to become king. From a third-person perspective, players explore environments and engage in melee combat against fantasy creatures (e.g., half-human soldiers, skeletons, monsters). Characters use swords, fireballs, pistols, and arrows to defeat enemies. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, cries of pain, and occasional gunfire. A handful of cutscenes depict quick splashes of blood when characters are shot.”
The game serves as a follow-up to 2013’s Ni no Kuni: The Wrath of the White White, which was critically acclaimed. The game put players in control of a boy named Oliver, who sets out on a journey to save his mother. Combat has you taking control of multiple characters, while also utilizing monsters known as “familiars” that can be captured and tamed.
