The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series has largely been known as a DS and 3DS series, but next year it looks like they could be making the leap to another Nintendo platform. Rumor has it that there are two different compilations in the works for Switch, which would essentially bring the games from DS and 3DS to Nintendo’s latest console.
This of course has not been confirmed and is only a rumor at this point, but the sources we’re hearing from are credible. They claim that the two compilations will be launching at some point between April 2018 and October 2018. The first compilation will reportedly contain Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Trials and Tribulations. The second will contain Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Spirit of Justice.
This isn’t the only news we have to report on this series, as the rumors also suggest that a new mainline entry in the series is also in development. The game is reportedly in development for both Switch and smartphones, and it’s targeting a worldwide release in late 2018. Phoenix Wright is said to be the protagonist, and there will be five cases at launch.
We of course need to take all of this with a grain of salt seeing as they aren’t official announcements, but it seems like there’s a good chance of this all panning out. Capcom recently confirmed that they are developing Switch titles for a release in the Spring of next year, which will certainly fall within the same time frame of the compilations talked about above. We’ll be sure to bring you more information on this as soon as it becomes available.
