The release of the Nintendo Switch-exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is on the horizon, bringing the critically-acclaimed series to Nintendo’s newest console for the first time. Now the game’s download file size has been revealed, and it unsurprisingly takes up quite a bit of space.
The game’s product page through the Switch’s eShop has revealed that the game’s download file size is 13.0 GB, which is certainly big. This definitely won’t come as a shock to anyone who is familiar with the series, as they are very lengthy RPGs that feature massive worlds to explore. It looks like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be upping the ante in that regard, with the file size to prove it.
Nintendo recently held a Nintendo Direct presentation that was focused entirely on the game, giving lots of new details on the game. The big announcement was that the game would be getting a season pass, featuring everything from new modes along with main and side quests. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will also be getting a new side quest that will help promote Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is set to launch on December 1 exclusively for Nintendo Switch, and will serve as the final major release for the Switch this year. The original Xenoblade Chronicles launched for the Wii and received critical acclaim, with praise being showered on just about every aspect of the game. A followup in the form of Xenoblade Chronicles X released for the Wii U, which didn’t receive quite as stellar reviews but nonetheless was still well-received. It will be interesting to see how the latest game in the series stacks up to its predecessors, and it won’t be much longer until we find out.
