Next week is a big week for Sonic fans, as it marks the release of the next 3D Sonic game called Sonic Forces. There’s a lot riding on this game seeing as it’s looking to get 3D Sonic games back on the right track, though buzz on the game leading up to launch has been mixed. Either way, we now know how much space the game’s download file size takes up on PS4.
The game’s product page through the PlayStation Store has revealed that the game will take up 18.19 GB of space on the console. This actually isn’t bad at all for a modern AAA release in this day and age, with many games being in the 30-40 GB range and then ballooning from there. This could be taken as the game either being light on content or simply being well put together by Sega, but we’ll find that out next week.
The following is a brief synopsis of Sonic Forces:
“Join an epic high-speed fight to save a world decimated by Dr. Eggman and a mysterious villain in the newest game from the team that made Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Experience fast-paced action as Modern Sonic, catapult past perilous platforms as Classic Sonic, and use powerful new gadgets as your very own Custom Hero Character.”
There will also be a Bonus Edition of the game that will be available at launch, which comes with “an exclusive controller skin and awesome in-game costumes for your custom character. The controller skin design transports you into Sonic’s universe, featuring Sonic and the mysterious new villain, Infinite. Plus, the costumes from games like Persona 5, Jet Set Radio, Super Monkey Ball, Nights, and will transform your custom character to match characters from these iconic SEGA games. Download the free Episode Shadow add-on when the game launches to fight with Shadow as a playable character!”
Sonic Forces is set to release on November 7 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
