The highly-anticipated Middle-earth: Shadow of War is available now, and while reviews have been all over the place, most seem to agree that it is a worthy follow-up to the first game. It looks like the game is doing well in the sales department, as well, as sales numbers for the Steam version of the game have been revealed.
It has been revealed that Middle-earth: Shadow of War has sold nearly 400,000 copies on Steam, which is definitely solid for a launch period. The game also debuted at #2 in the UK sales charts, with the only game beating it being FIFA 18. It really isn’t surprising that it lost out to FIFA, as those games always sell like hot cakes.
For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Shadow of War is a sequel to 2014’s Shadow of Mordor. Where Shadow of Mordor impressed with its unique new Nemesis System that allowed gamers to form rivalries with their enemies in the game, Shadow of War expands upon that concept in many ways all while telling a new story set in the Lord of the Rings universe. The following is a brief overview of the game:
“Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the award winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth.”
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
