The Monster Hunter series is set to be making its return to consoles soon, with Monster Hunter World in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Today Capcom has announced the official release date for the game, which is January 26. The announcement was made at the 2017 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan, which came with a new trailer you can see at the bottom of this post.
The Monster Hunter series has been around for a while now, releasing on several different platforms. The new game will be similar to the previous ones, though it will of course have the added benefit of the much more powerful hardware of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The following is an overview of the game via the official website:

Set foot on the New World as a hunter from the Research Commission.

You will track down monsters by following their tracks, using environmental hazards to control them, and wielding powerful weapons to take them down.
The New World is filled with never-before-seen wonders. With the rest of the Research Commission at your back, delve into the far reaches of the New World and discover its secrets.”
