We’re getting closer and closer to the release of The Evil Within 2, which is set to launch across multiple platforms next month. Bethesda is keeping the hype train rolling by releasing a new trailer for the game, which shows off more of the game’s creepy world and characters. This one is called Race Against Time, and you can check it out at the bottom of this post.
According to the description accompanying the new trailer, “Time is not on your side in The Evil Within 2. As Sebastian Castellanos, you will face unimaginable terrors as you fight to find your daughter within the nightmare of STEM and get her out safely before the entire system crumbles around you. On top of the hideous creatures that roam the streets, you’ll also have to contend with the likes of Stefano and Theodore – twisted individuals who have made their horrific homes inside of STEM and are warping the weakened world to suit their wills. Should the world be completely destroyed, there won’t be any escape for Sebastian or Lily.”
The Evil Within 2 is shaping up to be a worthy followup to the first game, which launched in 2014. That game was directed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, and was his way of delivering a horror experience that even his own Resident Evil series wasn’t delivering at the time. He has returned to direct the second game in the series, which aims to address some of the criticisms that were directed at the first game. Some felt that the first game’s combat was a little too reminiscent of Resident Evil 4, and overall the story and characters left something to be desired. However, the sequel aims to tell a much more personal story than the first game, as this time involves the protagonist’s daughter.
The Evil Within 2 is set to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 13th. Be sure to check out the new Race Against Time trailer below, and stay tuned for more information on the game as we get closer to its launch.
