Nintendo has revealed that they will be hosting a new Nintendo Direct presentation soon, with the event set to take place on Wednesday, September 13th at 6:00 p.m. ET. While we didn’t get a whole lot of details regarding what to expect, they did reveal that it is “mainly focused on what’s headed to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS over the next few months, including new details about Super Mario Odyssey.”
Seeing as Super Mario Odyssey was the one game that Nintendo name dropped, it’s possible that it will be the main focus of the presentation. That game is set to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on October 27th, so this is typically around the time when companies really start pulling the curtains back on their games. Nintendo has been very generous when it comes to sharing new footage of the game recently, providing us with nearly an hour of new footage during Gamescom 2017.
If I were to speculate about what else could be getting the spotlight during this presentation, I would hope that maybe we get some more details on the highly-anticipated Switch-exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles 2. That game is still slated to launch by the end of this year, but it surprisingly still doesn’t have a release date. However, that information may have been leaked recently, with a retailer claiming that it will launch on December 15th. If it turns out that the company is intending to release it on the aforementioned date, then it stands to reason that an announcement making the date official would be coming soon.
As for what else could end up appearing during this presentation, that’s really anybody’s guess. There have been rumors suggesting that more ports of Wii U games are in the works for Switch, with ports of Bayonetta 1 and 2 for Switch being the ones getting the most attention. We could even end up hearing about what they have in store for early next year, with both Kirby and Yoshi games currently being in development. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there that are dying for more information on the Pokemon RPG for the console, but it seems like it’s still going to be a while before we get concrete details on that project.
Whatever ends up being covered during this presentation, you can be sure to find all of the most important details here on GameSinners.
