Nintendo had been recently teasing a new character set to be added to the roster of Switch fighting game Arms, and today that character has been officially revealed. The character is a clown named Lola Pop, and she will be added to the game via the title update 3.0.
Lola Pop is certainly unique when compared to the other characters in the game, and is described as a “well-traveled clown with a personality as colorful as her clothing.” In terms of her fighting style, she seems to be a mid-speed fighter with the ability to inflate her body for defensive purposes. The character will be joined by a brand new stage in the game, which is themed after the character. You can see her in action through the announcement trailer below.
This is the second character that has been added to the game for free, as last month owners of the game got Max Brass. Nintendo has also regularly been adding new content to the game in the form of new modes, ensuring that owners of the game don’t get sick of the game too quickly. The company seems to have plans to support the game for a long time, as a leak apparently let slip that they have many other characters in the works.
Arms is available exclusively for Switch. The game launched in June to solid reviews, though some criticized the game for not having enough content. It looks like that will be a problem that will be less and less apparent as time goes on, as if Nintendo keeps adding free content to the game at the rate they are then fans should be pretty happy with the overall package.
