PS4 SMITE fans who felt they were missing out on the CCG/Strategy game called Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics are in luck, as the game is officially heading for Sony’s latest console. The game has been described as a solid blend of Hearthstone and XCOM, which is definitely an intriguing combination.
The announcement was made on the PlayStation Blog, which claims that the game is coming to PS4 “very soon.” However, signups for the Closed Alpha test are officially open, and you can put your name on the list by clicking right here. They will apparently start welcoming players into the Alpha within the next few weeks, so keep an eye on your inbox.
The following is a breakdown of what to expect from Hand of the Gods:
“You’ll build your army around one of six mythological pantheons, featuring the characters you know and love from the hit MOBA Smite. Lead your forces into battle as Zeus, the Greek God of the Sky, Ra, the Egyptian Sun God, Odin, the Norse Allfather, or other amazing deities of myth. Now, you’ll truly command the gods on the Battleground of the Gods.”
Fans will also be happy to know that the game is 100% free to play, and you’ll be given 4 Core Card Packs free when you finish the game’s tutorial. A closed alpha trailer for the game was also released, which you can check out at the bottom of this post.
The SMITE brand continues to be very popular in the gaming world, with the main game still being a big draw to this day. The game originally launched on PC in 2014, which then came to Xbox One in 2015 and then finally PlayStation 4 in 2016. The game also has a successful esports scene, which includes the annual SMITE World Championship that has a $1 million prize pool.
