While Nintendo fans have been left out in the cold when it comes to the fact that Resident Evil 7 isn’t available on Switch, they will be getting some form of a Resident Evil fix later this year. Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 will be coming to Switch this year, though a release date has not yet been revealed.
Switch fans have options when it comes to how they want to purchase these games, as you can buy them in a bundle or individually if you only want one of them. The bundle of both games will cost $39.99, whereas each version will cost $19.99 standalone. We usually get some sort of discount when purchasing games in a bundle, but I guess that won’t be the case here.
Prior to Resident Evil 7 getting the series back on track in fantastic fashion, the revelations games were the only really solid games that fans could get their hands on for a while. Both Revelations 1 and 2 focused more on the survival horror elements of the series, rather than the heavy action that was present in games like 5 and 6. Resident Evil Revelations 2 was originally released in an episodic manner, but thankfully everyone can enjoy the complete game without having to wait between episodes now.
As for what the Switch version of the games will include outside of the base games, all of the DLC will be included along with Raid mode and solo and online co-op. It sounds like it will be one of the best ways to experience these games yet, especially when considering that you’ll have the option of playing the game at home or on the road with Switch.
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers will also be getting an HD port of the first Revelations game later this year, seeing as it never released on current hardware.
